@deanscott Nice job! I really like the sound selection on both songs. Only positive feedback from me on this one. I like how the instruments are processed. They almost sound Lo-fi in a way, but they all work with each other. I especially loved the vocals at 1:35 on "Don't Believe". Nice job man!

More boom bap for ya'll. Thanks in advance for all feedback.

Don't Believe:
there is some obscure about the melodies that I like. I think it is not really structured like a song (which is okay) but there are some elements coming in that keep it exciting.

Hey Now:
This sounds like an 80s synth pop song. Does not sound like hip hop at all and I am not digging it. Way to happy vibe for my personal taste.

I really like the brass samples you used here. I dig the vibe of this one.

I think the hi hats are probably too much in your face (volume) and also I think that the drum pattern is too short and therefore to repetitive. While the beat works well without a bass I think a bassline could even spice it up a little more. Keep up the good work.

@deanscott Not sure what to say really. I don't think any of them are hip hop and the way you've posted is a bit frustrating. Just looks like you've signed up and dumped your tracks in the forum. No information, background, nothing. Maybe they're not supposed to be hip hop? I don't like coming over negative or not giving constructive feedback but finding it hard on this occasion.

The return of @Rah.sool !This is definitely hip hop. Execution is flawless. Horns panning just nicely into the next element. Drums are nice. I actually don't mind the volume of the hi hats - I think they carry the track nicely. Nice work and good to see you back!

@Kane the MOD Appreciate the feedback my friend. I think the low end on your output device might be low, because the bass line is pretty prominent on my speakers/headphones.

@hosie Thank you for the feedback brother. Yea man last week I didn't have enough time to give thoughtful feedback to all the work so I didn't bother posting. I'm looking forward to hearing your track this week, as well as everybody elses. Peace

@Rah.sool Definitely a 90s hip hop feel. The bass line is warm. I like the drums and how they reverb. You did your thing on this. Props to you.

Nice one @MR. MINESTATE I'll get a listen to these later on and get some feedback too.

I've been trying something a little different with this one. Trying to tame a big bright sample to allow J-Live's vocals to cut through but at the same time have them compliment each other. If anyone heard the original J-Live record it's quite funky and fast moving, I've tried to give it a more atmospheric vibe (opposite of what I normally do). I did something completely different with my drums too. I've essentially only got the one kick which actually allows for a sort of bounce where a second kick would normally be. Listened in the car earlier and I feel like I've over compressed slightly and lost a little dynamic. I've added a bit of analog filter to the vocals too and it sort of distorts at the start of the verse, there is some applause there too which makes it even more noticeable. I think I might remove the breakdowns / chat throughout the track, introduce my own chorus for 4-8 bars in between the verses to keep the vibe going throughout. All feedback and comments appreciated as always. Apologies for the dissertation on my own beat. Cheers!

Oh yeah man. Stupid me really shouldn't review beats on shitty loud speakers.
Bass is really nice. The track is well balanced. Drums are on point. Keep up the good work.

I didn't hear the J-Live record but this is fire.

Great job man.

I was checking it out and can see what you were talking about as for as the vocals, but its still dope! The vocals definitely align. Your spin on this remix is dope. I love the drum and horns you used. Props.

Hey @MR. MINESTATE

First beat. Head nodding. Samples and elements are well paced and it all fits together nicely.
I like the filtering of the drums when the vocal bytes come in. Executed flawlessly.
Dope instrumental. Hold on! there's a rogue snare/hi hat in there! it sort
of tripped me up towards the end. You'll need to remove that. It arrives on
the 4th bar of the drum loop. Really off-putting once you hear it. Other than
that it's dope! Love it!

Second beat
Not as tasty as the first. I'd argue I can tell the difference in mix too
compared to the first one. Might just be me. It's a little too start-stop / choppy
for me and not sold on the hollow snare.

Nice work as always!

I banged this remix 4 years ago.
Old to me, new to you...sorta.

Did my remix inspire you to dig this one out? :)

This is sooooooooooo nice! It's a little choppy on the sampling but you've flipped it to perfection. Be nice to hear you re-do this now. It would be much more buttery! Can you send me an mp3 of this? Love it! Thanks for sharing.
