Whats up guys I love to sample old classical especially piano and strings I was wondering if anyone has any good artists to buy when buying old classical records. I know I can go to the store and buy a ton of random classical albums, but I'm wondering if you guys have alot of luck finding cool stuff to use from specific artists. Let me know what you guys are finding. Peace

hmm, classical music can be a top noch source for various melodic samples.
i would recommend you to get into Space Age Pop Aka Orchestral Pop.
you should try acquiring lps from the 'Mystic Moods Orchestra'.
they released their most known lp in 1966 (re-released in 1995). it's called One Stormy Night.
great atmospheric music, with lots of melodies\fragments you can sample.
another interesting artist is Esquivel.
i would recommend you to get one of his lps.
i have one of his most famous lps - Other Worlds Other Sounds - and it's a very interesting piece of music.

As I mentionned before, sampling classical music was a big trend in France in the late 90's .... but that style is really passé nowadays...

If you really want to sample classical compositions ... then don't get too complex ... get as many Mozart or Beethoven CD's as you can and that's it (you can't go wrong !!!! plus it goes into public domain , so there's no need to clear samples ...)

wrong... you can go wrong sampling classical music be it beethoven or bach or whoever... bottom line... classical music is harder than soul to sample... mainly because cats dont know wut to listen for... or how to cut samples into feasable segments...

Theres so much classical, and theres so many different styles and people. I dont think theres any particular group of classical records that are the "best". Like you said, I think the best thing you can do is grab a bunch of random classical one.

Listen to this beat i just made. I just found one BIG orchestra-type hit and i cut it up and put it all together.

Its Called:
