Sample copyrights?

I've been writing music for a while now, but so far I've been writing my own samples. I play piano and guitar and making loops with them. I've never sampled from vinyl but I want to start. I was wondering what the laws are for sampling copyrighted music? Anyone know?

In order to get a sample cleared...You have to go through the artist's record label or who ever owns it.

You really don't have to worry about being sued if your sampling someone...

they only time people usually sue is if your well known. Like Neptune status!!!

A lot of producer's pay out the ass to sample....
