Yo whats up everyone im so damn bored right now I feel like lettin yall know about the new album. Personally I am not a really big fan of alot of def jux album's. I like RJD2, and most of the mc's on the label but I can't really feel most of the beats these guys put out. Most of them are really noisy, and I can't really get into even though I always am hearing the hype about el-p and what not. I picked up the S.A. Smash Smashy Trashy LP the other day, and let me tell you all with out a doubt this is one of the best records I have bought in a long time. The beats on this album definately sound alot different then most on the label. The beats are stoney and grimey as hell. The lyrics that S.A. Smash put out through out the album are also very dope, voice and flows. This is some real hardcore underground s*it right here. 17 tracks total about 14 of which I am feeling, which is clasified as a dope ass record as far as I am concerened. So if yall ready for something new to listen to, or if you are into hardcore underground hip hop pick up this album for sure you wont be dissapointed. Anyone else picked this album up yet...what do u guys feel about it???

Word. but this albums been out for a long time now...I like it as well tho.

As for tha other jux stuff, your either hearing beats that EL-P made, Bigg Juss made, or Blockhead made accompanied by NASA...

Tha only beats that are really really noisy and unselting are tha ones that EL-P makes...mainly cuz he doesnt use nearly any compression and hes intentionally making his trax that way to have a individual sound....

honestly, at first i couldnt listen to fantastic damage and then one day i dusted it off and went back to it and i started to realize that its one of tha most amazing hiphop albums i have heard in a long time...I dunno, its like i wasnt ready for it at first and then all of a sudden it was dope and i had it all that time....You know how it is...Its like, you hear what you want to hear, so if your thinkin that your not feelin tha el-p style production or whatever than your just not feelin it, but then all of a sudden you hear it again adn its like "where tha fuck did that come from!??!" ..."I never realized that was so dope!".....At least thats how it was for me...

I like el-p sounds alot and even for me it did take several listen to find the dopeness of fantatic damage.... But then I knob think it's the best album (not just hiphop) of the last decade or something like that. I didn't like sa smash that much, I bought it when it came out, I think I was expectind something more "advence". Not some dirty hardcore. It's kind of weird I think that def jux put this album out when all they do is shit on more conventional hiphop. I think it's a great album just not my cup of tea. I like the RJD2 and the EL-P produced song tho.

Yo duece I feel ya man, there is so many times where I will listen to one thing then come back another day and love it. I should go back and give some of my old albums another chance, but its all a matter of personal preference.

that would be dope. blockhead already has breakbeats n shit out which are instrumental but an instrumental album would be very interesting to hear. ive always wondered if blockhead would be able to make a whole LP of beats which are constantly progressive like Rjd2's beat on Deadringer are.

we shall soon see.

in my opinion, an instrumental album is the only true way to see what a producer is capable of. hope blockhead comes dope. i wont expect him to be any where near Rj standard though. more Fat Jon standard....which is still dope
