well i went to sam ash today and played with the phantom, and the mv-8000, and let me tell you the phantom is the shit it was so many funckin sounds in there it was'nt no joke, i did'nt like the pads on it tho but the over all sounds and look was cool,

next was the mv-8000 i have been lookin at machine for awhile now and i finally got to use it, let me tell you this is no easy machine to get around even the sam ash guy got stuck, but after he choped the samples up for me it was good it has a pretty big machine the pads felt good, it had some nice bass, and syth sounds in the, the drums were allright, but if i put it up to the mpc-4000 i would say this machine is like an inch ahead so eather way you go you still got a good machine.

one more thing i checked out was the motif es and that shit if so fuckin tight i would sell my bed, tv, playstation 2 every thing i own just to get it, the sounds were so authentic and crips i just could'nt believe it i might just get the rack verison but it was tight.

i just recently got the mv8000, and that shit's sick. its a complete workstation from start to finish. I'm still learnin how to use it. there's soooo much shit you can do on it i'll probably be learnin for years. but it really has it all. pretty much anything you can think of to do it'll be able to do if you can just figure it out.

You ever used the 4000? I would choose the 4K over the MV, but whatever.



I gotta agree on the Motif, i read Nottz interview in SCRATCH and i was damn i gotta check out the Motif. IMO the motif is just a triton with more real instruments. I love the triton, its just that a lot of the sounds arent as realistic as the motif.

yea i have used the 4000 a little bit at a friends house but it was only for a couple of mins, same with the mv so i did my comparison from those couple of min, but if i could keep them both for a week i could probley do a better comparison
