Remix Sort Of

One thing I like to do when I hear a particularly dope sample (one already used) I like to get that sample and make my own variation of the beat. I don't shop that beat I just keep it for my own amusement. Just to see how I would've worked that sample if I had came across it first.

Does anybody else do this???

i dont do it a lot but i've done a couple of tracks this way. I usually find out the song they originally sampled and then i sample it again but say a different part. I remember i heard this beat using a sample of Oh Girl from the Chi-lites, it was mad dope, so i sampled this song but a different part of it and it turned out hot too. I guess just the song is hot. This is what I did with Girls Girls Girls by Jay Z. I sampled or rather remixed it into a beat. Turned out tight. Now all hardcore cats dont get on me for that, I was just playing around and i aint even thinking of selling that beat. Check it out on my soundclick.
