I've just learnt how to use a basic ReGroove mixer, and it can make my drums swing better, but as for putting them drums together in the mix I don't really like it. I don't know if it's just that I don't like the stock patches or what, but I can't really seem to work it too well. I'm wondering if anyone here uses it or just misses it out completely?

I dont make a track without using the regroove mixer to adjust global swing, mostly around 70% but can depend on the sample your putting a beat to. Can make drums sound a lot less static, I dont use the pre set groove patterns as I dont really like them. Extracting a groove from a rexxed beat loop can be very helpful too, especially if programming drum layers over a drum loop in the dr rex.

As an interesting trick, you can get your own grooves.

If you ever make a drum loop you really like or really any MIDI region that's unquantized and has a cool groove, try this;

Right-click the region, choose "Get User Groove"

Then click the groove channel setting on your track in the Sequence Window. It's the little box next to the record button with a little expansion triangle and a check mark.

Your user groove should be the first thing on the list and you can apply it to any other MIDI region. It's a neat trick to know... Especially dope when you get a groove from a REX file where the chops are real tight and precise.
