I got a problem trying to record turntables to my laptop. I've got the rca cables from my mixer hooked up to an rca to mono 1/8" converter and plugged into my mic input (don't have an external soundcard so I gotta do it this way). Problem is I'm gettin a ton of buzz in my recordings. I've got my tables grounded so I can't think of what the problem might be. Any tips are greatly appreciated

Shit Pug you beat me to the answer. Your right, it's prolly the mic input on the laptop- there's got to be a line in somewhere.

Hey,

Most turntables require that you plug them into a turntable pre-amp to convert it to a line-level signal. Dj mixers have these preamps in them, if you have one make sure to plug it into the mixer and plug the outputs of the mixer into the line-in on your soundcard.
