How many times does it have to be said that it aint the tools, but who's using them.
I know hot producers that run FL and the results are good, and the same goes for Reason which I use myself.
They both have their drawbacks, its just whatever your most comfortable with, and how well you have gotten to know the software you use. Its like hardware too, if you dont know what you are doing then the results will be just as crap with hardware. Making music is a learning experience that never ends, just when you think you know it all, you learn something new to bring you back down a peg.
Software/Hardware/Reason/FL/Cubase its neither here nor there.
Until you know how to use what YOU HAVE effectively then the music will be sub standard. PERIOD.

this is all true. However, when you see comments like "(insert application or hardware name) is better 'cause it's just better..." or the like it tends to frustrate people that have taken the time to learn a particular piece of software or hardware inside and out. The reason I gave such a detailed explanation on FL Studio is because the vast majority of people that dog it out have never gone past the basics. Most have never opened FPC or Directwave, most never knew it had a bit reducer or high quality dynamics processing. They look at the interface, play with it for a little while, and immediately say it's for beginners without being informed.

That's where the arguments start.

Same for the Mac vs PC debates. You get people who use macs, that have never scratched the surface of what a PC is, and they down PC users. Meanwhile, PC users, who have never used a mac will do the same. Me personally, I've owned not only PC's and Macs, but also SGI, IBM AIX, and STILL have a Sun machine sitting right next to me. I know the strengths and weaknesses of each platform and won't hesitate to correct any misinformation about any of them.

If you come with bad information, I'll correct it to the best of my ability so you're better informed the next time around.
