I just got a yamaha 16wg and I'm really loving it.I also have a mackie mixing board and I've become very accustomed to it.My thing now is do I really need the mackie board since the aw16g is a mixer too ? and if so, has anybody ever tried just taking the tape out from a 1402 or whatever and putting that into your multitrackers inputs. If I did that, I would just be running my sp drums into the mackie and I'd run my mpc straight into the aw16g. Anybody ever done this ?

ive had multitrax for some time, and although i used to run them all thru my Mackie 1604, i slowly stop usin it... once i got the Korg D16XD, the Mackie went back in tha box... will i ever sell it, HEEELLLL NO, its still great for outdoor parties, and still gives u that analog feel, but i think its a wrap in my studio... maybe on some trx, but its not necessary for me anymore...

as for your other question, i have no idea what ur talkin bout. what "tape???" anyway, all my equipment goes strate into the D16XD's inputs... its very powerful... ull hafta see what features u mite miss leaving ur mixer outta tha mix.

I agree with silk, if you don't need it then take it off line but keep it. However, I have a large hardware set up so I need the extra inputs and I also need to be able to control the different input volumes quickly, it's also useful if you need a quick hook up point for other misc. inputs like sound processors or fx generators. If you dont have those kinda issues then youre good to go without it.

Silk I think he's talking about the record output ( tape out )...lol
