Does or has anyone on illmuzik ever paid for the use of a sample? How big of a risk is it to use a sample thats uncleared?

This has been discussed a lot of times so you should really do a search.
In short however, if you only sell a small amount of CD's, that don't really hit the airwaves, then you shouldn't have to worry too much, because the artist sampled won't have much money to collect from you. On the other hand, if you sell a lot and know it will be played on radio, clearing the sample is something to consider.
