These we all the photos I took. I should have took more but I was distracted by a lot of things. I was gonna give a play by play account of the conference but I don't think that is necessary. I'll just speak on the highlights.
1- I met two of IllMuzik's finest in person, Beatz 101 and Shortfuze. I should have taken a photo but I was disttracted by Olivia.
2- Olivia looks way better in person than on TV. If you can actually imagine that. Some people don't think she is hot... I think she is.
3- I almost punched a guy in the head for talking on his cell phone while Primo was talking. Talking on the phone in the movies is retarded. Talking on the phone while the legend is talking is fuct.
4- The Beat Battle was very good. Some of the participants were questionable. ApplejuiceKid.com was good but I think it was more hype. He flipped a beat out of the Cold Play song was corny. All he did was add soldier snares to the track but he other cuts were nice.
5- Getting a chance to talk with every panelist who attended including the following: Primo, Havoc, Alchemist, No ID, Hi Tek, etc. All the A&R's too... who were actually more popular than the big names because everyone was pitching their beat CD. They were all available. I don't think that is going to happen again. Next time they do this, it will be huge. Sha Money claims to listen to all the CDs they get. That might be the way to go for some of you guys.
6- Knowledge on a lot of how things work behind the scenes. It is a who you know business. More acurately... who knows you? This was the number one thing I realized at this conference, it's not who you know, but who knows you. The ultimate goal of a producer is to be recognized for making good music. And you do that through your work, not by convincing people you are good. So instead of trying to get A&R's to notice you by getting in their face, you should be getting your music to the masses so an A&R or Artist already knows who you are or has heard of you when they see you.
7- I missed out on the real fun though. This is the first conference I've seen where you get to go to a strip club at the end of the night on the first night and then to a club on the second night. I guess it was to celebrate Sha Money's Birthday. I wanted to go but after hearing cats in the beat comp... I just wanted to make beats.

Dude in the white shirt was Young Hot Rod
Dude in the red shirt was Havoc. Both of which I gave beat CDs.
