Cool seminar.
First segment was with DMC from Run DMC. One of his comments was along the lines of "hip hop started with the dj. If you go to a concert, and there's a rapper, and no dj, then that aint' hip hop, get your money back!"
next segment was with three scratch Dj's - Grand Wizard Theodore / Rob Swift / Second Generation (he's a VDJ scratch DJ from Atlanta). Rob Swift had some direct talk about how mixtape dj's don't acutally mix. People nowadays think Mixtape dj's are the best dj's even though all they do is yell over tracks, and can't actually blend or scratch.
next segment was Chuck D - solo - droppin some good knowledge. Many quotables, good direct commentary on the current state of music, global culture, life and money.
Last segment was a production round table wtih Large Pro/88keys/buckshot/druha and the dude who owns Fat Beats. The general vibe between the panel and the crowd is one of excitement, that the current low quality music played on the radio is about to get trampled on by real soulful, heartfelt, bangin music.
Grand Wizard Theodore tore it up after that, doubles/needledrops, dope shit from the man who originated the scratch.
Jetted back to BK after that, good show, definitely worth the time.
PEACE!!!
PS - One cat everyone was mentioning was the owner of "Tunecore". A dope online distribution system where you keep the exclusive rights to your music. I would reccomend peepin them if you have a minute.

Werd,
It was actually better than some of the live shows I've been to recently.

Two nuggets of wisdom from Chuck D:

"The money you make is the money you save."

"Make a living, don't make a killing"
