Ok heres the thing I am getting rid of my tec 12's to go to cd turntables I know I am selling out but dont have the dough to keep out with all the new records all of the time, packing around crates and crates full of records just dont work for me any more so I was wondering if any one owns any of this turnbles and if they do do they like them. I have read all the info about both and tryed them out but just want some feed back from people that own them to help me in my decision.

The best thing to do man, is find a store that has them both and you can play around with them both and decide from there. But if you don't have a store that sells both then I guess do a lot of research...if no one has any expierience with both machines. I have played around with the Numark joint, to me, it's the best thing next to using turntables. It has a REAL good feel to it. Good response time and all that. Never messed with the SL (i don't think)

I got the Numarks and I've tried the Technics. As far as cutting and scratching and the so close to vinyl feel, NUMARK hands down. The Techinics feel is very loose and artificial. The only problem on the Numark is that there has been problems with mp3 playback and a long loading time, so it ain't the best for the club. Feature wise and for club-style mixing, the Technic wins. The Numarks pitch control isn't as tight as the Tech, but that'll depend on your mixing style. But the Techs have a digital scratch sound that is very cheesy and the button placement is cumbersome to navigate swiftly. Actually I don't recommend the Tech at all. Numark, Denon, and Pioneer are leading the CD turntable game.

Yea I know keeping up with vinyls is a pain in the ass sometimes, thats why you just get a record pool. But yea when you lack of spending money it really sucks. I can relate to that. As for me I like to stick to the artform, but what ever works for u just do it. I've tried out the Numarks CD Turntables... I agree with Ed_sizzahanz...The feel is closer to the real vinyls na mean. Just get what ever you're comfortable with.

get the new denon dn 3500 its the pioneer cdj, da numark cdx, and the denon s3000 all in 1. with direct drive spinning platter. gyeah!!!!!

Again, feature-wise, it has all of the elements but one thing, a 12" platter. Unless you are using the CDX, it is like you are scratching on a 45. Not a big deal to new DJ's but to us old heads, it's a world of difference. I'm only a little biased, though. I had the denon 3000s before I got my CDX's and I like them better for parties and mixing, but on the scratching and live shows, CDX's man.

im not a new dj at all been djing for 8 years now. started on and still rock tech 1210's and 90% vinyl. ive used the denon s3000's and the 5000's before . i admit it does take getting used to but it wasnt that much difference to me. i was able to adapt quick and scratch like i was on a 1200 . scratching , beat juggling even doing a couple body tricks. i like da cdx's too and hell yeah id rather a 12" platter but them joints are not portable at all. there good if ur using them in replacement of your turntables. but if you adding on id go with the denons.. ima always be atleast 50% vinyl even with 2 added cd turntables

THe CDX's are a monster to carry around. If you competing for Mr. Olympia though, it's not a big deal. LOL!

i've got cdx's and they work great ,BUT my mate has had to take both of this back to the store for various issues to get replaced.
These make the transition from vinyl to CD's pretty smooth as all skratches(except needle droppin :) ) and cueing style can be preformed the same as turntables.

if you check out www.cdxforum.com you will see that reliabilty is a bit problem on some units.
They are heavier than 1200's too but do have some cool features like the looping and also the pitch bend...

something to consider is Rane's serato skratch live product .with can be used with turntables (or cd decks too)...

http://scratchlive.net/forum/

with this when u switch the mixer to line it works from the laptop then switch it back to phono to play regular vinyl.

I'm currently thinking about switching to this. (jazzy jeff , j-rocc ,mix master mike are using this at the moment) check out the vids here...
