Talib is set to release a new album in June (22nd I think). It's called "The Beautiful Struggle". As the CD was leaked, and he is now going to make changes to it, he is releasing a mix CD to keep his fans happy, which I think the picture is of.
Don't cop the leaked version, it isn't mixed or mastered or anything.
The mix CD includes collabos with Kanye, Common, Consequence, Jean Grae, Styles, Fabolous, Free...etc
Oh, and in regards to Kanye, I am not going to speak on it as we have already had plenty of heated threads about him. I suggest everybody else keeps this thread about Talib, who we haven't spoken on in a while, and not Kanye.

i've heard the leaked version of beautiful struggle. it really was disappointing. i thought quality was disappointing too. i'm a big kweli fan and to me, he picks bad beats. i hope he revamps the album before its released. damn! why can't he just go to premier, pete rock, jay dilla, and maybe throw in a 9th track for good measure. dj quik? c'mon kweli, let's get it together. train of thought is a classic. we need to get back to that standard. which hard for him since hi-tek makes jiggy beats now

the thing that gets me is taht kweli has made his whole career dissin the same kind of cats he is working with now.. fabolous? he woulda been a black star-punch-and-words-feast 7 years ago. he is the guy they spent so much time talking about.

"Spice girl mc's"? tell me that fab right there! i can KINDA (but not really) see the Styles thing... ok, im lying. that makes no sense to me. none of it does. it just doesnt make sense. thats like gang star dissing everyone who doesnt make hip hop like them and then having the guys they diss for "destroying the culture" on their album. (since when did snoop embody "real hip hop"?)
anyhow i am very puzzled. my heros have fallen and i am left with nothing but old albums. i am not a fan of the newer underground... guys like sage francis and aesop rock arent my style... so kweli, common, mos def, punch and words, the roots, and ESPECIALLY Pharoahe, PLEASE give me ONE more album of that classic train of thought/resurrection/internal affairs/black on both sides/do you want more/etc..... material. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE.

i'm gonna have to agree with most of you on here and say that kweli definitely has not neen living up to the standards that him , mos def, hi-tek, common, and such set a while ago. it seems to me that the first album put out by almost any artist is always their best. i think that's because it's their first and they are hungry to get on and get a piece of that action. once they do get on it's like they have nothing left to say and put out mediocre sophomore albums to capitalize on the sudden fame. but this is not the case with all artists though. i'm not gonna lie though i'll still buy anything blackstar, common, the roots, etc... put out. hopefully when the new blackstar album drops (if it ever does) it won't be what we're hearing from them right now. hopefully things will go back to the way they were.

i dont hope they go BACK to the way they were, i just hope the quality, thought, effort, and creativity are still there... i always want forward movement. look at common.... his albums always showed a growth from the last one. tahts waht makes an artist. the thing i dont get is people want artists to be the same throughout their career and that is just not ever possible- but they can be just as GOOD..... forward always, never backwards.
Hey! not everything can be like its 94 again. (but we can dream about it) but i just hope that its some good material. if he ends up working with Fab and the rest of thos ice rappers then i hope he brings out the best in them rather than the other way around. as far as COMMON???? waddup wid that boy?? his last album was...was...was...STRANGE!! i dont even have a word to describe that one. thats one artist that i hope goes back a lil bit!
