thats cool... i am not a fan at all, but props to el-p for what he is doing with the label as a whole. he is the master p of the backpack crowd. now if we can just let them know that it is ok to get some money and radio love....

ive streamline the album and i think it is his worst release so far.
float and labour days shits on bazooka tooth in my opinion. thats only my personal taste though. mainly because i like blockheads production better than el-p production. Also, bazooka tooth just sounds like a really angry album. his previous albums had different lyrical styles....from sad, to angry, to happy. on bazooka tooth he just sounds like he is screaming a bunch of shit.
dont get me wrong, Aes Rock is one of my fav MCs. He is a dope writer. Most of the time cats dont like him simply cos they cant understand him. For me, the lyric he spits on labour days..... "Ill put your life in a basket before you can say instant classic"....sums up the album. Labour days is classic simply for the fact that Aes so clearly exposes the foundation of our culture. That album contains lyrics which I live by....so I love it very much.
I suppose its unfair for me to compare bazooka tooth to labour days sinc i havnt heard the WHOLE bazooka tooth album...but i can say, that if Aes Rock was to release an album which was better than Labour Days, it would almost automatically be release of the year (for me)
anyways....ill shut the fuk up now since i originally intened to reply to this thread with "yeah aesop is dope.....one of the dopest...cats need to stop sleeping on him."

Dam! Really Mess?...Im pretty much diggin tha entire album...shits pretty ill to me.
As for older drops - aside from float and labor days - my fav. would have to be 'music for eartheworms', and even tha 'Appleseed' LP was ill az fuck.
I think i jus like those releases more cuz it shows his earliest skills and has a slightly diff. sound due to that growing up stage - yet he still delivers in those albums just as well.
As for Bazooka Tooth - id have to say im almost as content with it as music for earthworms - almost.

If you ever pay close attention to aesop's lyrics youll notice he'll add a verse every once and a while saying somethin like - "i had em all up late, thinkin i'd re-release music for earthworms"....
I suppose it makes it kind of a novelty that way sorta?

The reason I asked is because I picked up a record the other day called Young Jo - Summer Fling. It had a home-made looking lable in the center of the record and the album features a shit load of artists.....Maleko, SFSM and Deskee to name a few. I had never heard of ANY of them (including Young Jo) but ALL of them were fucking DOPE! Later I found out that they were all from crews called WESTCOAST WORKFORCE and SHAPE SHIFTERS (of which Awol One is a part)

Any Living Legends....Ive been a fan of tha legends for quite some time now and you cant go wrong with those guys.
Sage Francis...I assume your already hip to this artist since he's catchin fame now like Atmosphere.
Styles of Beyond...These young guys, well their prob. not young anymore - but when i first bought theyre shit they were def kids....these guys are tight too.(they jus dropped a new one too - its supposed to be good)
C Rayz Walz...I jus bought this album and its hands down pretty adictive.
