MPC 3.5 Desktop BETA

I'm still working on the 2.15 software. I'm afraid to update because I use the mpc renaissance still. They said before that it wasn't going to be any updates for it but I made it to 2.15 so far. The software 3.0 and beyond looks and works so different I don't want it to affect my mpc. I'll be brave one day ;)

That would be shitty if it didn't work with the Ren. It's too bad they don't come out with an updated Ren. I know the MPC X is somewhat that, but the Ren looks like a classic MPC.

But I know a lot of people wanted VST3 support and now this new version will have it, which is cool.

yea I've been waiting on the VST3 to work on the MPC but I've been using jbridge (to use my vst3) so long on my mpc. Im really not too excited by it

@K-waz
Just curious, as I’m unfamiliar with modern MPCs, what’s been keeping you on the Ren?

I vaguely remember when it came out the opinions weee mixed on it. Conversely, Akai is having a great company resurgence with the current lineup.

I find you have 2/3 camps of MPC users; modern (Live2, One+, Keys) and vintage. There’s also a huge niche of 1000/2500 users too.

The Ren doesn’t quite seem to fall into either camp, at least what I can tell, so I’m interested into what your experience with it is.

Yea the review was mixed on it because it was the first of it's kind and now you have mpcx, mpcx se which is all an extent of the mpc renaissance. I just like the workflow of it plus the four vintage mode that it has (mpc 3000, mpc60, sp1200 & sp 1200 ring). This machine has never let me down and I never had an issues using it. I hated that Akai flew passed it so quickly for newer versions to beat the maschine. I do like the sound of the MPC 2000XL/3000 better but if the renaissance was a standalone like MPCX it would be that much more special.

It’s funny how things have changed. Maschine was touted as the “MPC Killer.” Then the REN came out and kinda flopped. Now NI can’t seem to get their shit together and Akai has been on a roll!

I love seeing creators getting stuck in with “orphaned” gear and stretching out their shelf life like you’re doing with the Ren…

…goes to show it’s the Producer not the gear…

…unless it’s the first round of a Warzone hahahaha

Weird. You don't see them at all now?
When I was in the car and did the original post, I put emojis, but when I clicked post reply, the post appeared but the emojis just vanished. I tried a few times to edit and add them but they just vanished every time. Came in and did it on the laptop and they stayed.
Wanted to make it clear I was just joking around and not being an arsehole.

Maybe it's a UK thing. I'll see if it's a known software issue.

Wait what? They discontinued the X?
As far as I know. Plus if you look at the stores all they show is the special edition ones, (the grey ones instead of black).
