So just wondering are some still doing staging when mixing or have we become lazy and just throw a limiter on all channels?
I still perform staging even though I use fabfilter and parallel compressions and side chaining.
I found it keeps the dynamic in the over all track, instead of throwing a limiter on it
I use limiter at the end of the chain sometimes and on bus channels sometimes but, I found out it kills the dynamics in the the over all track! So staging for me is key, and when its done properly you wont need a limiter.
So what are most producers doing?
Keep up the good work everyone and enjoy the weekend!
