Mixer Help? only one side producing sound...

ok so i got an old 16 track Ev Bk 1632 mixer from a family friend for free a lil while ago, and hooked it up yesterday to my mpc, turntable, etc...

everything was going fine, bumpin some stuff, made a simple little beat just playing around. then i left for a while. a few hours later when i came back, only the left is playing any sound. it isnt my monitors, doesnt show any fluctuation on the meter at all on the right anymore....


the only thing that i can think might have been a problem is i accidentally switched the "phantom power" on earlier and the speakers sputtered a little bit. other than that, idk..

any suggestions? please.... i need this mixer

is your sound off on that channel thru the control room output? or the headphones output? you won't need the Phantom power unless you are using a Phantom powered XLR mic input... if the sound is ok thru those two I just mentioned look at your cables, you could have a bad one.....quick test is to swap them by taking the cable from the channel that is working and plug it into the other channel.....if that monitor plays then you found the bad cable....other than that it could just be a loose connection.
