help. anyone know the best prices for either or both of the following:
1. pro tools digi 001 or 002
2. Mac powerbook

Depends on the specs you want. For the Powerbook check www.apple.com or www.dealmac.com. Look around on ebay for the 002, you might find a steal.

well since you cant just by pro tools you gotta buy their hardware too its proprietary and i would get an mbox instead of an 001 or 002 but i aint certain about prices so i wont speak on it

Pro tools isnt the greatest thing ever, people use it because its standerd ...im in a studio operations class and we use it but our instructor doesnt even like it...he uses Nuendo ... i personally use Cubase SX
they also have a prog called Paris and i hear its good because it responds in a more analog way than any other prog...but i guess i didnt answer you question
