and wot would be your advice as the best instrument to take up for a newbie to producing, wot instrument do u think gives sum1 the best knowledge of music as a whole and being able to write and produce etc !?
I play drums and keyboard .....
the best instrument to learn would be piano/keyboard .....that would hlp you with your producing ........forget about what people say(it might kill your creativity) thats BULL! .....thats just being lazy.
i play guita n keyboard, these r da main 2 tings, i mean i cant opt 4 violin lessons as dey 2 expensive and so is da equipment. i tink guita n keyboard r da cheapest n best ne way
I Play keys, drums, sax and have gigged in live bands.....4get what they say....use your ear but get some kind of music theory at least if you don't get formal training...it will help if you move into other genres of production like RnB or some pop that might require more structure...you can pick it up but I think you need to get the theory.....know how to play the drums helps with complex shidd....like if you want to simulate how to play a sixteenth or triplet.....with the right accents...because drum rudiments are the backbone of any beat or drumset pattern.....I say that learning keys will help with your ear and chords and changes....or you can take the shortcut....just listen to other music and learn whats going on and try to recreate it...
