I just can't seem to grasp it...

How do you all freak your strings/violins? I have been fighting and fighting somemore with making a nice string sound but I just can't get what I'm looking for...

I'm trying to take a simple string wav and turn it into a full rich sound. I've tried adding chorus and a little reverb but I can't get it to sound real for ish...every attempt is leaving me with a crappy sounding piece of ish.

Whats the secret to freaking strings?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And y'all know I gotta be desperate to ask some of you cats this...lol.

word, I was just thinkin that as I read the post. Yeah Dac, keep doin what ya doin, but definitly layer some strings,,,best way to do it.

layering def helps... with any orchestra instument ... u gotta think even a real symphony doesnt just have one cat playing at a time .. they have a whole section playing at once..

Play the strings in chords and mess around with the release. You could also get your "sample" on and compose on top of that.

also when you layer you build up chords with three types of strings..

For C Chord per example
Have one playing the C note
One string playing the E
And the other plays the G...

That way you can build something
