So wait... you can hear volume on reason with the main mixer volume maxed out??....

is the volume on the MPC up to?

or are there headphones pluged in the phono jack and the faint sound is comming from your headphones and not your speakers? lol. (that happend to me once, completely lost as to why I could hear it, but couldnt hear it very well)

heres how ive set it up( so i can make sense of wat im talking)
1)i have my powered monitors plugged into the control room output via 1/4". (volume is maxed on main Phones/Control Room volume and speakers are turned up 3rds and sounds muffled and is not loud)
2)im using 2 sets of rca cables to run into my soundcard (audiophile 2496) the first set run from cd/tape output into soundcard. the other pair run cd/tape input into soundcard.
3) i then have the mpc connected via 1/4" from stereo out on mpc to line 5/6 on the mixer.(not sound at all even with volume on mpc turned up as well)

So are you routing your stereo buss (Stereo 1/4 outs) from your little mixer to some kind of interface for you computer?

The signal chain should typically go like this:

MPC ST. OUTS > to a ST INPUT on your MIXER > ST. OUTS from the MIXER > to a ST. / or 2 line level input(s) on your SOUNDCARD/INTERFACE.

From there you just need to assign the inputs and outputs in your DAW to the appropriate channels.

You shouldnt have to crank your mains up that loud. I would be careful with that.
