That's a good point though making the connections for TV and film aren't as easy...
 
Nice, thanks Fade. I partly agree, although I've always been a fan of diversifying music related income. For example, instead of just making money selling albums, do that alongside making money from:
  • Gigging (upfront pay / royalty collection / physical CD selling),
  • Teaching singing / producing / instruments / whatever it is you do,
  • Being a session musician,
  • Making money from a music related blog,
  • Getting your music in stock music websites,
  • Licensing and allowing people to sync your music,
  • Etc.
It's worth trying all, as some will work better than others depending on what you you. But I don't feel you should just focus on one income stream.

I've talked about this a couple of times on my website, haven't got the exact link though.
