yo i just got reason. i likde it so far except its not really much diffrent than having a lot of vsts with a few soundbanks. My first question is how do you play a chord in the matrix sequencer? i can only play one note at s time unless i make an entirely diffrent track with that sound on it. And also i m looking for what the best refills are out there(Fo free if possible, pockets only reach so far) hit me up w/ feedback ...peace

what up holmzini..reason is dope you definately need refilss and wav one hitters..but as you go you will luv it..go to the showcase and check some of my tracks there all from reason...anywayz
first thing is first you really have to get a midi keyboard adn interface so you can play chords but for now in the sequencer you can click on the red blue and yello horizontal stripes and that will open apiano roll you can draw in chords and volumes and everything(very time consuming) and remeber to open you effecto right after the mixer and use the red knobs on the mixer as looped effect you'll see. any way that should help you with everything..the piano roll is dope. if you have any other question..pm me I have been using reason for about 2 and a half years

Hey,
Don't use the matrix sequencer to program chords, it is designed to behave like a simple 303-style step sequencer. I'm not 100% familiar with the program, but I'm sure that there is a normal piano roll editor in which you can put in a bunch of notes. You'll have to look for it, it should be in the manual.

^^^From what I've learned so far, the Matrix can be used for all kinds of sh*t. It even controls automation of mixer and equipment controls. It also creates some sick effects after you learn how to plug up different unit on the back of each synth and filter.
I could type on and on about it but why bother when you can read about it on the propellerheads website which will provide a better explanation than I can. They have example files you can download to see how they set it up.
