Been looking recently at going to uni to do a music tech course, but i now may have an opportunity to start an inter at a BIG record label doing shit and helping out in the studio etc which would be a real foot in the door ! Im not gonna say which label it is but it does have some very big hip hop artists with it and associated with it !
The question is if i have the choice of two what do i go for ?
has anyone got any experience with either ?

peace

You can always go back to school but you may never get this kind of opportunity to make connections in the industry. You can probably learn what ever that course was gonna teach you while you do your internship.

I am speaking from absolutely no experience in this matter so take that with a grain of salt....

I completely agree. Networking is key in the industry. Besides an internship will teach you shit that the schools can't teach. Don't throw school out tha door, but take this opportuniy for what it is, an opportunity. Real-world experience is probably the best way to learn because theory after all, is just theory. Besides in an artistic industry your skills do the speaking. Good luck.

I would say, get your foot in the door and take the studio job but DON'T drop the school option. Even though you could take all your money and just buy gear and learn stuff yourself, nowadays everyone knows that no matter what career you want, they want to see that degree.
