I recently found out that on almost every program i used i got my soundcard settings wrong and to fix delayed sound while using an VST i
had to select ASIO DIRECTX DRIVER but in Cubase SX3 i cant find the place to edit this, possibly there's another way in SX3. does anybody know how to fix this?

so my problem: when i load a VST in Cubase SX3 and i press a key the sound comes in about 1 second later. how to fix???

im using a Sound blaster live! 24 bit as my soundcard

if u still cant fix it there, go into the control panel also in device setup then advanced options and lower your buffer size on input/output ports, I usually keep it on 1024, no latency problems, remember to change it back when ur done with ur track or it will affect sound qaulity

Also, you need to make sure you got a soundcard that has low latency because if you're using your the card that came with your computer you a %^&&K. I would recommend you purchased a good card. You can get a nice one for about $99-$199. I have a M-Audio Firewire Solo $129.00(Refurbished) for Musicians Friends. That what I used for my Laptop and I use an M-Audio 1010LT($179.00)for my desktop. Do a little more research find the card that fit you budget and shot from there. Boneidle gave the right advice but if you have a cheap card then you will have a big problem.
