i have a numark direct drive turntable, a yamaha mg10/2 mixer, an m-audio mobilepre usb audio interface, and a regular stereo for monitors right now because i can't afford any yet. i'm having a problem with connecting everything together because i don't have traditional monitors yet, just a stereo.

My stereo and turntable both use RCA cables, and i have included pictures of my audio interface and mixer.

Mixer: http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dba.../4/3/375943.jpg

My goal is to sample vinyl into the mixer, EQ it, then record it to my laptop for chopping and then to be sampled with my mpd16.

Can anyone tell me what cables i'll need to make everything work in sync with each other and where they go?

Sorry for sounding stupid but this is the first studio i've ever tried to build and i'd appreciate the help.

Well lets see u have a TT, mixer, mobile pre, and regular stereo monitors.

Ok here's how i'd go about doing it.

Connect Mobile Pre to laptop.

Take the outputs of the Mobile Pre to the RCA on your stereo system. You will need RCA to 1/4 cables(see pic)

Take OUTS from Mixer to LINE IN on your sound card. You can also use an RCA to 1/4 cable if your TT has RCA OUT.

Take OUTS from your TT to Mixer. You can connect your TT to an channel on your mixer by goin RCA to 1/4 or you can jus go RCA to the RCA In on your mixer.

Now hope that helps.
