What's up my fellow button pushers, fader riders, microphone-yeller-atters, and computer-screen-watchers!

I've been making beats since I was 13 in '94, when all I had was a couple turntables, two mixers, a 16-sound Yamaha beat machine, an old casio keyboard, and two tape decks.

I've worked with many people through the age 20 on an amateur level, using Boss DR550s, Tritons, Trinities, MPCs, various programs, my ASR-10, my crappy little Roland MS-1, my 4-track cassette recorder, and my little SP-12 that I eventually threw away. Wish I still at least kept the chassis.

Anyway, when I was 20 I went to school for audio production at the New England Institute of Art in Boston, and got my degree in Audio Production.

From there, I moved to NYC and worked at a world-class recording studio for 10 months, where I got to work with people like Joan Jett and the Vacancies, Lee Ryan, and not much other artists, but tons of other random advertising/commercial projects and little stuff like setting up the mics to sample sounds for the boxing scenes in Cinderella Man.

Since then, I've acquired a 12" PowerBook, MBox, ProTools, Reason, and all that good stuff. I still make beats, and write lyrics to rhyme over some of them. I've been selling beats since I was young, and the simple ones sold for like 25 a pop when you bought four. Now I have a whole bunch of ideas about drawing up contracts on selling beats if anyone's interested.

Today, everyone wants a beat for FREE! F*#k that! We can spend anywhere from 15 minutes to 40 hours on ONE BEAT, and they want us to hand it over like it's a cigarette! These beats are like OUR CHILDREN! There's a part of us in every beat we make, so we gotta find a way to make ours off of it, but reasonably, because NO ONE HAS ANY MONEY!!!

But yea, to sample a small variety of my beats, check my beat page. There are more samples of beats on my songs, on this page if you wanna browse a little. 90% of my beats are made without samples, because I just always have melodies in my head and wanna slap a drum line and some extra stuff on it.

But yea, that's me... If anyone has any questions or wants to collaborate, I'm always down.

Thanx Fade.

Yea man, back then I was all into baseball n football and I divorced the sports life for the studio life back then. She keeps me happy, and when I'm mad she lets me slam my hands on her keys and she screams for me. What a woman.
