The next competition will be from November 22-23rd! See the information below.

Signups

The signups will be on November 22nd at around 10am ET, and end around 8pm ET, or until we have 16 contestants (whichever comes first). Voting will be for 1 day, on November 23rd, where the results will be posted the same day.

Theme: SOUND FLIP
  • You must use both sounds from this WAV file. Download it here.
  • You can chop it. (It's from a DJ scratch record so that's why they're so close together.)
  • We must be able to hear the 2 sounds!
  • Your beat must be no longer than 3 MINUTES!
You can use whatever sounds you want, samples, synths, just remember to read the rules for the rest of the restrictions. What the judges will be looking for is originality, creativity, mixing skills and overall dopeness!

Voting

From now on, the voting will be by all members! If you are competing, you will be able to vote but not for yourself. DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT! I will be watching for cheaters. This means you cannot sign up under different names or get your friends and family to sign up either. If you are caught cheating you could be banned (depending on the mood I'm in).

Beats

All the beats will now be displayed in a random order and without any names. All you will see is: Beat #001, Beat #002, etc. This is so that there is no favouritism when voting.

This month, the competition will be sponsored by Greg Savage & DIY Music Biz, where the winner will get 1 on 1 consultation from industry insider Greg Savage on music licensing.

well this going to be an interesting contest. i'm looking forward to it, and i'm going to be changing my style because i have so many different types of styles of music. some voters might not catch on but i want to be more of a producer and not just a beatmaker..

i'm lucky this thanksgiving everybody is coming over here @ 3pm PST...but i've already had 3 shots of skyy vodka and eggnog. so i'm feeling pretty good right now and watching football game..MINNESOTA VS DETROIT

oh no bruh, i didn't take it out of context. i just think sometimes you have more control making your own beats sometime. but i know your internet has been down bruh...sorry to hear that. out here in washington state we were hit with these big wind storms so i had to hotspot the internet with my cellphone...which was slow as hell but it served it's purpose until my internet was back up
