How the Beat This! Competition Works

The longest-running online beat battle ever, it's a straight up competition between IllMuzik members. It's usually every two weeks and we often have themes. Normally the beats must be no longer than two minutes. The signups are on one day and the voting is the next day.

Rules for competing:

1. IllMuzik members will vote.
2. Your beat must be in MP3 format.
3. Your beat MUST NOT be longer than 2 minutes (unless a theme says otherwise).
4. Make sure you beat fits the theme (if there is a theme).
5. It must be an instrumental (occasional vocal snippets are OK - don't rely on vocals too much)
6. You can only submit 1 beat.
7. You CANNOT have tags in your beats!

How do I sign up?

When the signups open, you can signup here. You must upload a beat when you signup.

What style of beat can I upload?

Any style you want, but just remember this is a Hip Hop website. Just remember that you're trying to out-do your opponent!

Can I have vocals in my beat?

No! Not unless it says so if there's a theme.

Are there prizes?

No. The battles are free, so there are no prizes.
