Nice feedback @BiggChev! Damn that takes a lot of effort lol.
Hahaha yeah! Hence why it took me over a week to do. Booze and drugs also help hahaha

having a vote is nice, a feedback even betterNice feedback @BiggChev! Damn that takes a lot of effort lol.
Jheez I pioneered the feedback shit. For like a year it was solely me doing it every battle!Nice feedback @BiggChev! Damn that takes a lot of effort lol.
ppreciate the feedback n love, and almost nothing on that beat is composed. it's like 6 or 7 samples stacked on top of eachother. the only thing I wrote myself is the piano (and horn) from 1:50 which is I think what you mean. if you want to see or know about anything or "steal" somethin in specific lmk, I can even show u the project file or mix racks or... on discord stream or idk. wherever.@Armani - this is one of my favourite beats from you! The chops and textures your built up right from the start are soo interesting and unique. I've been trying to copy your sound/instrument selection, because I think you have a great ear for bright resonant instruments (ethnic plucked strings/bright pianos) which adds a great dynamic range to your music (which is what I'm trying to crib from you). Personally, I think the big "miss" on this beat, is that you didn't trust your innate sense of melody. What I like the most about your music is that I can always come away, being able to hum the main theme to your tunes. I think with this song, you 1) waited to long to bring in that catchy melody 2) it wasn't presented as powerfully/prominently as you usually do. I think that may be a by-product of trying to stretch the beat out to 4 minutes (or at least as much of the 4 minutes as possible).
ngl, I knew I was gonna be out by r1. cause I heard ur r1 beat n I was like "ain't noooooooo way my beat is gonna beat whatever this mf cooked for r2"You're a legend @BiggChev to take the time and effort to provide feedback like this to every single beat in this. I appreciate the good work and constructive approach brother. As for your question, yes I used reversed, chopped and different pitched samples to make a 'whole' precisely at the 0:42 timestamp but also scattered around in the beat, sometimes less perceptible, other times more. I actually like to just fuck around with shit and see what it'll become. I'm mostly doing it by ear as I don't have much music theory so you probably know more details of my beats (or how to call em) than I do haha. I just put stuff together, fiddle around, compose some shit and try to make it sound good to me. If other like it then that's a bonus.
I thought I was out at Round 2, @Armani delivered some heat man... At round 3 I thought It was possible to go in the finals NGL, but voters made their choice. Still better than last year's Round 1 loss against another legend @Iron Keys !
Again thanks mon frere for taking the time, appreciate it !
