OK, i've been watching massive tutorials. And i'm see'n most peeps are using Audtion, but then again peeps are saying use forge. Now, when I use to record lyrics/tracks for a mixtape with my boy before i got into production, we used Audition to record our songs.. but now my hip-hop goes much deeper then that. What should i use for sampling/chopping?

I noticed on Manta's vid tut. He chopped snares, hats, and kicks, etc. How exactly do you find JUST the kick an snare when chopping? I just started sampling, so go easy.

kicks are usually the big waveform snares are smaller than that and hats are smaller than snares. or just hightlight a section and play it

Audition is more versatile, like you said you can record vocals over tracks in it. For chopping both are good. For years I used SoundForge for chops, but I found that the selection utilities in Audition are a little smoother. I find myself accidentally losing selections in SoundForge more than Audition. I use Audition more, about 60-40 to SoundForge.

If you're gonna use ACID, you want to use SF. When I chop my loops in Audition, they do not get cropped correctly.

But audition comes with some serious plugs and recording tools...Shit! I use both!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive Used Cool Edit Pro / Adobe Audition for about 4 to 5 years it seams like. all track i have posted with or without vocals were done in CEP or AA.

definitly,,both are part of the StressWon Arsenal. The audition wav editor is handy when recording vocals, but I use SF to chop all my samples,,,its way more precise.
