hey i'm looking either to cop the presonus firebox or the m-audio fast track pro or the m-audio firewire 410. (or something else in that price range)

right now i'm using protools m-powered so tharts why i was leaning towards the fast track pro, but its got some shitty preamps and i hear the pres and the overall quality of the firebox is a lot better. i have a pc though, so i'd have to switch over to cubase, not logic :(. i havent heard much about cubase so i'm not sure its the best option for me. but yea, i haven't really familarized myself too much with protools so i wouldn't mind making the switch.

let me know if theres anything else in that price range that would make sense for me to cop! thankss

Hey elementsrtyte,

Let me start by telling you my experience with small audio interfaces...
I bought a emu-1212m (270$) 2 years ago, and quickly ran out of I/O....
I wanted to start experimenting with analog hardware but didn't have the inputs...
So my only option was to buy a adat interface like the behringer ada8000 (230$) to expand my connectivity...

With all these purchases I could of gotten a interface with already 8 In/outs without the assle/cost of adat cables and sync problems... (ex:preSonus FireStudio Project 499$)

So my advice would be to spend a bit more now so you dont have to later on...

As far as Cubase goes, Im a happy cubase sx3 user myself and its a very powerful program...
But the new cubase 4 fixed some issues like free routing and side-chaining that makes mixing more pleasant.

Peace
