    Beat This! - April 6-7, 2022

This comp had a little bit of everything. Like we said everything is subjective. @2GooD Productions I enjoyed your track the best, but it put me in the mindframe of funk/R&B, yet i was ready to skate and dance lol

Some very interesting interpretations to say the least. The beat I really want to vote for is definitely 80's, but it's not hip hop/rap LOL

    Beat This! - March 23-24, 2022

There were more boom bap beats in this comp then the last one.. lol

Yeah man, its always been that way. You're unknowinly training your ears on what to listen for in a good mix. Years ago when I first joined I would think my beat was solid until I heard everyone else's. Everyone's snare was cracking, while mine's would sound like a pencil hitting a sheet of paper.

@Fade imo I do think people are trying their best. This just shows these styles 'Trap', 'Boom Bap', 'Reggae' aren't as simple to make as they sound. When you dont listen to it on a regular basis, It takes some time to get the feel for them.

I hate to say it because Illmuzik is more... But there's nothing better than the aftermath after a 'Themed' Beat This

The sample technique sounded rocafella dipset like. Before the drums dropped I could see new era hats and oversized throwback jerseys

In the voice/words of Large Professor "That New York Sh!t!!" A couple beats did kind of have a Rocafella DipSet Heatmakerz vibe.

Finally had some time to give some feedback before Fade closes the thread. For most of the beats I tried to say something helpful. Im no music expert just giving my opinion, hope it helps for the next time. @LiveLargeBeats - Dope beat, I would only say shorten the intro @Armani - The...

@Iron Keys thanks for all the feedback.. My first initial thought was to be lazy and enter a beat I posted on soundcloud 7 years ago lol..

Thanks everyone and thanks @Fade for the opportunity. Funny how things workout, I didn’t spend much time on the beat itself, but was trying to get a better mastered track. LUFS loudness level without distorting the bass. Still not pleased but it’s an improvement

Yeah, there's enough tutorials online for sound creation using stock plugins of your DAW of choice. You take the time to learn your tools, and realize there is no need for soundpacks or subscriptions to websites like splice.

LOL IDK what to tell you, I lost track of where hip hop is/was years ago... Depending on the votes, that will tell us how the track is perceived.

That's why I was on the fence about voting for it but its replayed, put together and mixed very well.

Ahh yes!!! the mythological Detox album.. Three of my favorite videos on youtube is of Snoop renting out an entire studio with DJ Quik, Battlecat, DJ Pooh, 1500 or Nothin, RBX, D.O.C. and Warren G (who was stuck in traffic and never made it). They were getting some songs together for Dre...

Bruh, I know everyone wants to display their best, but to my knowledge (@Fade correct me if I'm wrong) win/lose no Beat This has made or broken anyone's music career. Its all fun and entertainment for hip hop beats

I’m going have to go through my cd’s and take another listen. I remember buying it the day it came out and not really feeling it. At the time I felt the 213 album came out 7-8 years late. If the could of dropped a 213 album right after regulators sometime around 96-98, shit would of smashed...
