What the hell is this garbage?
Mine was with 9th wonder. That episode inspired me to eventually switch to Maschine from FL studio. Its like a comfort show for me, I still look it up periodically. Btw, there is a new episode with him that was uploaded recently. Good but doesn't have the same vibes. -

I dont think its necessary to violate your beats as much as possible with effects for them to be considered LOFI. For me its all about the vibe, like if you found an old cassette tape in your parents attic. Some are in better shape than others- oninkaf

Yes its all up for personal interpretation. For me is all about sampling. My all time favorite lofi track is row flip by sweetbn_. He used a piano sample from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, pitched it down like crazy and added some deep drums. And the flow is amazing. Just my two cents...- oninkaf

My first finished beat
This drummer explains it beautifully and this can apply to music production as well. You delay your drums a bit to get that funky feel it's an oversimplification but you get the jist. I recommend watching from 5:35 mark first to see the example then watch the whole video. cheers! -

Oh wow, thanks @Fade really appreciate it. the secret? I disappeared, got me a machine mk3 and hit those tutorials night and day. plus, those plugins that come with Kontakt are next-level. the piano is all me, no samples and they just always come out clean no matter how much you crank them...- oninkaf
