I have the Triton Extreme 61.
I think it has good stock sounds (synth,horns,effects,etc), and I've loaded my own drum samples.
In my opinion, I think 1 workstation is enough.
If I need something else, I can just sample it.
Is the Triton Extreme sequencer comparable to a MPC?
It has quantize and step edit.
I have the MPD16 pads hooked to the Extreme.
So, would there be an advantage to getting a used MPC2000xl?

On the Triton Extreme
I assign my drum samples to the keys in the SAMPLING MODE
Apply that MultiSample set to a PROGRAM
Then in MEDIA mode, I save Multisample as KSC file
Then when I start up, I load that KSC file, and my drum samples load up and are assigned to the different Programs...
I almost bought the Fantom-S when it was $1500.
I ended up buying the Triton Extreme.
Any of the workstations (Fantom/Motif/Triton) will get the job done.

The Vintage gives you a lot of leads and some nice bass/drums/effects
I've had the MK-6 keyboard for a few months.
I got it because it was cheap, and it was from EMU.
It gives you a quick source for drums and bass.
It has some decent RnB type keys.
I've just started editing and creating USER presets.
