    korg es-1

Ive been using the esx for a few month and think the machine is mad dope but im comming from using the sp505. but the few issues i got with the machine is that u cant turn off quantise when real-time recording to it is always shifting the timmming of ur notes which is annoying for drum...

    Is This Trade Worth It

u need to come from a place where even if there is no money to be made u'd still make muisc, even if there is no fame and praise u need to still have the love and drive to do music. most of the top producers would still make music even if they were not getting paid.

    take ya time

word to classic AT aliens is a sick album thats my favourite Outkast album, but to quote Madlib "every beat cant be great" Some beats come quickly and if I see no potential in the beat it will stay as is, some stuff is supposed to be just quick and dirty other shit is more involved and builds...

    too stiff?

study j dilla on the welcome to detroit album u will learn alot about swing and making tracks that can breath easily. but the key is to not have averything quantised to rigidly.

    the equipment the Neptunes use

certain equipment influences how u work and thus makes it more or less likely to produce a certain sound. so if u have an sp12 with 10 secs of sample sound those limitations will force u to work in a certain way thus yeilding a certain sound. so u cant rule out equipment and say it aint a...

Got a new sampler the ESX1

Its a dope machine interms sample manipulation and the overall sound but the downside is real time recordign atin truly realtime. so all notes get quantised so that means there is a danger of ending up with some stiff 9th wonder drums so i gotta be weary of that, but aint no going back now...

    Beats sounding the same

That sounds like what happens when dudes buy a keyboard and keep playing the same 3 finger melody (saying they original) with a different preset sound. In order to flip shit up change the drums u use and the patterns ur program also get some different sound source dont make all ur beats off...

How long does it take for Production on a Track

i think as u get better ur able to producer better beats in a short space of time, if ur just starting out learning how to make beats u likely wont be making bangers in 10 mins. but after uve been producing for like 10 years and ur used to all ur equipment u become able to trun out high...

    the equipment the Neptunes use

Neptunes use alot of preset sounds, they make some decent club tunes but they over-rated. still props to em for doing they own thing and getting cash & being successful.
