u guys are actually proving my point .. hardware cant replace software.. not yet .. the topic of this thread was if hardware could be replaced by software ..like u could do EVERYTHING in the computer and come out with the same quality as with quality hardware... if u take a software beat and run... -

i hear ya, but i think we are arguing the same thing ... "superior" is a matter of perspective... are the dacs on a digi 002 better than an sp1200? .. techinically spec wise yes.. yet drums from an sp have that sound to them... hardware is imperfect, noisy, and distorted (in a good way)and thats... -

well analog gear = hardware so i dont see your point... but even hardware romplers and VAs sound better to me than softsynths... and yes i understand that they are just computers inside of hardware but they still sound more full than softsynths.. i dont wanna argue but people will say all day... -

i dont deny that minimonsta sounds good .. but to me its not an acuurate minimoog sound .. hardware just has a "looser" more organic sound to my ears.. i guess its the difference between voltages and 1 and 0's... just sounds better .. for all the technology and tricks we have at our disposal the... -

theres alot software cant do yet imo ... no soft synth really can sound like a moog.. and no tape simulator really sounds like its genuiley coming from tape.. either all those blind test are full of shit or i have supersonic ears cuz i could the difference like that between soft synth and a real... -

if mp3 is only format i have the sound in ..im using it .. vinyl to wav or aiff is always preferred because u will get more depth,seperation, and clarity, and a much more smooth and detailed hi and low end , but fuc... use whatever u got .... i use mp3's all the time. -

hes right ..and so is evryone else .. actaully fl and reason have bad summing/rendering...more so reason than fl though ....its not anything that serious that it would make or break a mix, but u would be better off soundwise rewriing to another program like sonar/logic/cubase/pro tools etc... u... -

had to go with ill but not by much ... them vocals were a bit over the top imo ... thats the only place u lost points ... beatz joint had a nice feel to it .. neither one of them really made my head bob .. but i overall i think nomics got the edge with them sick breakdowns.- Ash Holmz
