    Malicious Intent

I really love this beat. Maybe I'm bias because I love the sound of a guitar anyway but everything else blends with it so seamlessly. Someone mentioned swamp vibes, I love the southern swamp vibes. It would be crazy if you could add to that even more with some slide guitar sound or harmonica...

Here's a (in a very loose sense of the word) pirate theme I'm working on. Looking for feedback.

The quality of the sounds/mixing sounds really good to me. I just don't like the mixing of what sounds like different genres. It's obviously subjective but it sounds like each part clashes with the last, even if each bit sounds good. And I mainly mean the more Synthwave sounding stuff and the...

    Social media promotion

My question is what forms of social media do you use to showcase your music and is there any specific way you post online? I'm only just beginning to try and use platforms like Instagram and maybe tiktok, I'm already on YouTube but I have 0 subscribers and a handful of views. I'm not a guy...

BLOW by KHz. (1st Share. Constructive criticism is valued)

This is really weird, I haven't really heard panning like that before. I like it a lot though, I love that bass when it kicks in. The one thing I don't like is I just wish I could hear and understand the lyrics. I know mumble rap exists but I personally couldn't make out a word of it, I heard...

    Awake!

This sounds fucking demonic, in a good way. I can easily imagine someone rapping over this, it would sound sick.

    Smoke & Mirrors Instrumental

This makes me say "Fuck yes" out loud when the bass starts and the whole beat kicks in. The mix sounds so good too.

    180 Bpm Rap/Trap Beat

I'm not sure about the structure on this one. Let me know what you think please. I really don't know if I'm getting the structures right but I think this is 180 bpm double time it has a 8 bar hook and 16 bar verse or something like that.

Here is something I recently worked on, I hope you all enjoy!

There's way too much going on for my taste. I'm not that much of an expert at mixing so I can't comment much on that except to say the levels seemed ok. As other people mentioned it's all the percussion going on took away any sort of bounce or catchyness. Maybe this is one of those types of...

    Slow Down

I really like it. It sounds like it should be on the menu screen on a new york theme GTA game or something.

    Structure.

Please can someone tell me common structures for trap and hip hop beats? I've been using 4 or 8 bars for everything but I listen to some songs and I'm sure I'm counting 6 bars for hooks sometimes. I've been listening to "I mean it" by g eazy and I'm sure I'm counting 6 bars for the hook...

    What gear is everybody rocking?

I use FL studio. I bought serum ages ago, I just treated myself to omnisphere it was my birthday. I still find serum easier to manipulate but omnisphere has a lot of good presets. I have some east west instruments. I bought gypsy, rock guitars, piano and voices of soul.

    Horror

For what it's worth this sounds really fucking good to me. I feel like I could learn a bit about structure just listening to this.

    Sidechaining/ducking.

Is ducking/sidechaining used in whatever beats you make? As I've mentioned previously I don't have much mixing or production experience. I've used this method before to make the bass duck when the kick comes in but most times to be honest I don't hear enough of a difference in the sound to...

    I'm not sensitive.

Thanks for the feedback, I listened to some of your music and it sounds very professional to me at least. You spotted the panning problem, it's because I only recently got panning to work in FL studio, for some reason I had it set to mono, I don't know if I switched it to this years back when I...

    I'm not sensitive.

When I first ever started making music I would listen on my headphones and it would all be fine but then play it in my car and the snares would really crack way too loud, I've developed this phobia of snare/clap loudness ever since. It's just due to a few different circumstances I can't play...

    I'm not sensitive.

I mentioned in my intro that mixing and mastering I believe are my biggest weaknesses. As the title says I'm not sensitive so please feel free to critisize anything in the music. I'll feel more comfortable rating other people's beats once mine have been ripped apart first anyway. I have 3...

    Hi

My names Paul and I've been into music on and off for around 20 years. First as a guitar player then got into the production side about 5 years ago but I haven't constantly been doing it. As a guitarist coming into music production I have a fairly good understanding of melodies and key...
