I find the bass ghost notes work best for me when I make it a quick short burst, and not too long.
I also get nice results with ghost notes on sample chops.
I'll use a quick setup chop using a small burst before the next main chop in the melody hits.

Yo haven't thought of that! maybe every 1 in 30 beats of mine have a notably damu vibe, enough to where I'd feel it's justified using the label. I really sweat that shit sometimes lol... spot on though, '90's east coast' is a great label too that wasn't specifically on the mind, yet is...
Here's my first joint in 2021, feedback appreciated.
Specifically would love your help with finding the right artist names for my 'type beats' - I don't make my beats for any artist in mind, but I do try to label them for artists who may have similar sound to help with ranking and exposure on...
@Matt-D
Bro this a dope beat. so smooth and chill, almost cloudlike.... while his lyrics have this built in intensity and realness. It's a fun contrast, nice work!
there are a few parts where the pillowy vibe doesn't match up well with the grit/emotional pain he's describing (not that it has...

It's important to understand how our current system is designed - mainly so our awareness can motivate enough of us to demand change. Videos like these are essential info for the common person who might argue that they don't care or it's too complex to change. Liberate yourself from the...
I can't wait to listen all of these beats guys. I've been at the hospital the past week with my dad and haven't been around for my normal music schedule.
Out of respect, I refuse to play any of these beats through these weak ass laptop speakers. I want the full scope! I'll wait till I'm home...
Ill flip Dacalion!
That breakdown is mean too, love how the bass is left hangin there great change of pace.
And yo that "It's been a long time" joint on your page is super nice too. Plush incorporation of mad elements on that one, all working towards one goal. Keep it up maaing
Thanks for sharing that ill sample with us Dacalion.
I had some more ideas for this but I found a good stopping point to post this.

Okay, I think I fixed what was wrong with the link.
That's a great point man.
I've been put off by southern hip hop from the production aspect alone. I've heard well produced southern music, just not in a while. It's like anything though, you want the tight shit you gotta dig for it.
The southern style i'm most familiar with are the...
will be lurking the forums until further notice...
spent $180 on vinyl for my birthday last week, nearly all jazz records with some sort of brass insrument on the cover. I will share some samples when i get my turntables back next week.
Yo, awesome to hear you are doing well. Always happy to hear what you are up to Hoppa. Can't speak for everyone else, but i've been super busy with several projects in the works.
When do you think your label album will be finished?

cool that you built the beat around what the vocal loop was doing. Drums and bass are...
I took 3 years of french and have limited understanding of what they say in the music.
20syl, Khondo, Mellowmaniacs a few I can remember, there are a ton though. French hip hop is where I wish US hip hop was.
