I don't understand the concept of live beat battles
I mean if the beatmaker has an MPC One/Live 2/X, SP-404 or any other samplers, they could just play their beat but add finger drumming or play effects live like reverb or echo to make the beats more interesting. That's one way to create Lo-Fi. The other way is to use lots of reverb, clean jazz guitar or piano, insert background noises without using distortion. Basically Chillhop.- V.J. Retro
