    Instead of genres what about beats inspired by an album or a producer. Or Fade names an artist and we have to pretend we are producing for that artist. That's the real producer mindset. Or just 90s R&B flip because I like that.

    Agreed. You haven't accomplished anything or put your imprint on it. I remember something called Acid Sound or something that was very loopy. Played around with it for a minute as a youngster and then moved onto Cubase, which was super hard at first but learnt a lot.
