@BiggChev @KomeKie Thank you very much for your feedback.

Especially to you Chev for such a detailed breakdown.
I mean this as politely as possible...kinda lacklustre. Maybe it's listening to 4 similar beats in a row coupled with my general disinterest in the genre.
I totally agree with you on this. I don't think that these are the most innovative and best beats that were created both by me and in general. However, that was the point from the beginning. In general I learned not to overcomplicate things. Trap, rap, hip hop whatever are pretty simple genres and in my opinion there is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Of course I agree that one could add some more elements to chorus etc. To be honest with you I tried doing this in the past. For beat battles my beats were good as there were a lot of things that kept the listeners engaged and stuff. But... It wasn't necessarily possible to rap over them.

I've tried doing it on some of them (as I used to have a little rap project that was never finished) and it was extremely hard to do so.
Also I haven't had many collaborations with rappers in my "career" (I still think that this is far too big of a word for my adventure with music) but the beats that I managed to sell were pretty simple. There was nothing extraordinary or complicated about them and to be honest with you I wasn't really proud of them. They were just beats. But yet - they got sold. So because nowadays I don't make music that often - I came back to it after a long break with plenty of ideas - and it's not something that I want to pursue I just like making something simple from time to time so that I keep my skills sharp. Over the years I developed some kind of song structure that I would call "my style" and usually I follow it. So yes, I totally agree that these are just decent beats.
@Tomblr
I really like this. The beat is simple but with vocals and those cuts everything sounds really great. Mix is on point as far as I'm concerned. The whole production has very old school style. Overall, good production. It was nice to listen to it.
@Bandia Gotach
I enjoyed listening to it. Drums in this track are really powerful. Similarly to
@BiggChev I like the whole atmosphere and arrangement of the track. I can't think of any form of criticism here. Great production.
@DJ Excellence
Great old school here! Nothing to add from my side. Great remix.
@KomeKie
Good things:
- I liked that the beat started as an old school one and then it moved to the trap. I also like mixing genres in my beats although I know that it's not visible if you only listen to the last four beats I posted. So it was a good idea from your side.
Things to improve:
- Definitely levels and overall mix. Bass is important in hip hop/trap/rap but you can't overwhelm the listener like you did here. This 808 is too much. It makes the whole mix muggy and it completely takes over the rest of the instruments.
- Generic sound selection when it comes to drums. My first beats sounded similarly to yours to be honest as I didn't have an ear trained enough to find good sounding drum samples. And I'm not referring to finding in physical sense - there are plenty of drum packs on the Internet. I'm talking here about right selection of samples. This is something that you should definitely be working on but don't worry - it will come with time.
- Arrangement - the moment when the beat turns into a trap beat is just a loop repeated a few times. While it's a good idea to create loops and base your beats on them, you can't just repeat them over and over again. You can do a lot with the loop that you already have and make it far more interesting than it sounds at the moment by taking away some elements here, and adding them later on. You can totally hear how I do it in my beats. Maybe this will be helpful for you.
