Exactly. Sometimes I try to make a beat with a sample that is average but it doesn't work out. I would never release that as a video. Hell no.

For real. Every so often I'll go down the Rhythm Roulette rabbit hole for inspiration and it's cool to see producers just fuck around. Like with the 45 King (RIP) or El-P vids, it's super humanizing to see them in their element dealing with whack samples and busted gear. Are their RR beats their best work, hell na. But they're having fun. And then you have shit like what @Fade shared or the Timbo RR vid and it's obvious they're just there to shill some shit. Fuck the sellouts.
I thought they all sounded good... I'm listening out of phone speakers but still, sounded like they had something. (I also was only just skipping in to get a quick quick glimpse of process and the beat itself)
The thing I was least a fan of was Timb saying type beats are the future and wanting to be the amazon of type beats.

I have an FL Studio folder full of stuff I'd never let the world hear under any circumstance.
I tried mixing down an old shit I'd made in reason 5, and the old reason 5 mix was much better.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
My only thought at that point is it possibly could be down to the composition and arrangement itself - obviously our comps and arrange would have improved with experience too, and people often overlook how the arrangement impacts the final sound.
I'm tempted to re-try and mix it one more time as I've levelled up again since then.

My folders go as far back as 06, damned near two decades. Some stuff I've tried revisiting periodically, like the idea was there but the execution sucked. I'll never delete any of it tho.

Mine goes back to around the same time, sure I have some going back to 2005. Anything made before that was lost when my hard drive packed up teaching me the most valuable lesson of backing up.
